Static Var Generator (SVG) is a power electronics-based device that provides dynamic reactive power compensation in various applications. In this article, we will explain the concept of SVG and how SolaX C&I on-grid inverters can be utilized with integrated SVG functionality, leading to improved power quality and enhanced grid stability. However, because the output power of PV systems will be affected by factors such as weather and temperature, resulting in changes in the active power output to the grid connection point, the reactive power adjustment of the system is required to stabiliz. Delta PQC Series SVG has a modular design, which adopted 3-level inverter topology with 3pcs modular IGBT and DC capacitor components, and the Delta SVG system consists of one or several SVG modules and a HMI display. SVG's HMI can be shared with Delta APF modules. From the perspective of the device level, the addition of reactive power compensation devicesnot only mitigates the effects of the grid harmonic voltage, but also provides an additional pathway for the inverter output harmonic. This study examines the application of high-performance 800Vac static var generator (SVG) modules to mitigate these concerns. This state-of-the-art photovoltaic (PV) inverter operates at an 800Vac output current.
